Dynamic
Marriage classes: A Marriage Enrichment Course (Class) Led by
Trained Facilitators For all our differences, men and
women want the same thing: satisfying, loving relationships. How
can you experience a lifetime of love, fulfillment and intimacy
in your marriage? By learning habits that meet the most
important emotional needs of yourself and your spouse.
In 1994, nationally acclaimed author and psychologist, Dr.
Willard Harley, Jr., agreed to have Joe Beam use his books: His
Needs/Her Needs—Building an Affair Proof Marriage, 5 Steps to
Romantic Love, and Love Busters as the basis for Family
Dynamics' first interactive course called "Dynamic Marriage."
This powerful program helps committed couples sustain happy,
fulfilling relationships that grow stronger each year while
bringing hope and healing to troubled marriages.
Family
Dynamics' Approach
Family Dynamics' educational and entertaining eight-week
course changes lives. Dynamic Marriage produces tangible results
for three powerful reasons: the wise insights of Dr. Harley
(writer of His Needs Her Needs) and Joe Beam (writer of Becoming
One: Emotionally, Spiritually, and Sexually), combined with the
dynamic delivery system of Family Dynamics. The eight weeks of
work gives couples time to learn how to stop damaging behaviors
in their marriage, deal with conflict, and learn to meet each
other’s
emotional needs.

Relationship Enhancement Program
The Relationship Enhancement®
(RE) Model is both a brief therapy model and a psychoeducational program
that employs an innovative skills-training methodology for empowering even
the most distressed couples and families to resolve current and future
problems on their own. Following the principles of an educational model
rooted in learning therory, it accomplishes its goals by teaching a set of
practical skills that enables couples and families to uncover and
communicate their deepest feelings, concerns and desires, and to create
solutions to problems at their deepest levels. The ten RE skills
taught are: Empathic, Expressive, Discussion/Negotiation, Problem/Conflict
Resolution, Facilitation, Conflict Management, Self-Change, Helping-Others
Change, Generalization and Maintenance. An additional strength of RE therapy
is that it equalizes power within relationships, both between genders and
across generations.
Six Week Relationship Class
6 WEEK
RELATIONSHIPS CLASS TO BEGIN MAY 16th– Pastor Riley will be leading a
video-based study on relationships designed to make bad relationships better
and good relationships great. This class will meet beginning May 16th at 7
p.m. and will continue on the following Wednesday evenings: May 30th, June
13th, July 11th, July 25th and August 8th. The material for the course is
based on the foundational work on relationships by Dr. Les and Leslie
Parrott, co-directors of the Center for Relationship Development at Seattle
Pacific University. Les Perot is a professor of clinical psychology and
Leslie is a marriage and family therapist. It was John Donne who once wrote,
"No man is an island." The Parrott’s believe that we need camaraderie,
affection and love, that these are not options in life or sentimental
trimmings, but are part and parcel of our species survival kit. We need to
belong. If you are in the category of the 25% surveyed who felt lonely in
the last month, then
you need this class. Even if you’re just one of the two-thirds of Americans
who say having close relationships with other people is always on your mind,
you need this class. So consider yourself invited. We’ll be meeting promptly
at 7 p.m. for dessert followed by the video based study and discussion
afterwards. We plan to be done by 9 p.m. This class is designed for adults
whether married or not of either gender. We believe the more the merrier. So
plan on being there. There is a $10 materials fee.
